NIB is seeking a

Release and Test Specialist - IT Unit

to join the IT Unit. This is an initial two year contract with possible prolongation. The core responsibility of this role is ensuring releases meet specific criteria prior to deployment to production and certain other environments (UAT, test etc.). Experience of providing applications support to either the lending or treasury applications is beneficial. The position will require the candidate to communicate with all levels of NIB staff throughout the Bank. The candidate will participate in both projects and production release/testing activities.

This is a new role in the Bank and as such affords the right candidate the opportunity to shape the release and test delivery capability, bringing best practice and introducing automated testing across the core software applications.

Main responsibilities
• Maintain high performing testing, release and deployment services to the Bank
• Perform regression testing of deployments according to testing cycle
• Ensure that Business and IT have performed sufficient testing prior to entering into deployment cycle
• Agree components to be included in each deployment with Business and IT
• Develop and manage the overall IT applications test plan for the Bank
• Introduce automated testing tools across the Banks core applications to deliver operational efficiency enhancements
• Support IT related projects in the creation, implementation and delivery of test plans
• Transforming the documented use cases into test cases that can be captured and executed by the automated test tool
• Monitor and control testing activities against appropriate KPIs
• Ensure that defects are reported
• Management of certain test environments, ensuring availability, configuration, connectivity, data requirements, coordinating backups and restores


• A Bachelors degree.
• Experience of introducing, implementing testing solutions across multiple applications and environments
• Experience of testing in financial services sector
• Experience of using code management tool/repository e.g. GIT, BitBucket, Bamboo
• Experience in testing of Treasury or Lending software applications. The Bank primarily uses Evry products for lending and Finastra products for treasury
• Ability to identity opportunities for the automation of infrastructure tasks in the Bank.
• Strong team working skills but also capable to work independently. A proactive solution focused individual with a drive to meet deadlines
• Any project management skills are viewed favourably
• Fluency in spoken English, coupled with high-quality written communication and presentation skills
