We are now seeking a

Trainee for the Legal Department

Our Legal Department is in charge of all the Banks legal matters and consists of the Office of the General Counsel and four units with totally sixteen lawyers and support personnel. The units are divided based on the work performed by the lawyers: Lending, Treasury, Institutional and Administrative legal affairs. We assist all other departments and the governing bodies of the Bank by preparing agreements and legal documentation and providing legal and institutional advice.

We are looking for a Trainee for the period starting preferably in May 2019 and continuing to the end of August 2019 on a full-time basis, with the possibility of extension. We warmly welcome international Trainees as well and NIB will assist you in finding accommodation.

Your main responsibilities as Trainee are:
• to provide administrative support to the lawyers in their daily work mainly related to the Administrative and Institutional affairs of the Bank;
• to manage and maintain the administrative contract management system, electronic archives and the Banks common vault; and
• to perform background research, preparation and proof-reading of agreement drafts and memoranda.


We expect from you:
• completed studies of 1-3 years in the field of law;
• fluent written and spoken English (other language skills are seen as an advantage);
• ability to interact professionally in an international environment as part of a team; and
• good IT skills and interest in digitalising and automating processes.
