Kontek Lön offers a robust Payroll system for the Swedish market with customers ranging from 50-2500 employees. The software is running on a private cloud and is continuously improved with new features. Due to organizational changes, we are building up a new development team. This means that you will have the opportunity to come with your experience and ideas to set the structure in the way we work going forward.
We are looking for both junior and senior fullstack/backend developers and Manual testers/Quality Assurance engineers to a international team of around 10 people. You can work from any of our offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Värnamo, and headquarters in Ljungby and part time work from home.
As a Senior developer at Kontek, you will develop new functionality and maintain the existing payroll solution, collaborate with the development team, conducting code reviews and providing improvement suggestions. Tasks regarding Cyber Security, DevOps and API development are also part of the job. As a senior, we expect you to support junior mentees in the software development process.
Since we are building up a new team, you will in the beginning collaborate and progressively take over tasks from existing developers. We expect you to play a part in the transition project by supporting the project management. There are many improvement areas in the development process and we hope you can suggest improvements based upon knowledge and interest in agile, continuous development and DevOps.

You have the following experience:
At least 5 - 10 + years of experience in web-development using Java programming language including:
• Relational and non-relational databases (SQL)
• Web services and service inventories
• REST API
• Good understanding of the entire development process and best practices
We see this as advantageous:
• Web development using XHTML, CSS, AJAX, Angular
• Experience in DevOps & Agile development
• Cyber Security
• Experience with Glassfish application server
• Experience with open source cross-platform development on Linux
• Experience working with projects relating to salary & payroll management or other logic heavy systems
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery
• Automatic testing experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science
You are comfortable with and have a good level of English, both in text and speech (B2+ level). Swedish is not a must-have, but positive.
Due to its complexity, development of a payroll system requires good analytical skills, that you are curious, and have excellent problem solving skills. This also means that you are strucured and prefer stability over risk. As a senior developer, we expect you to work independently and help drive the project forward and enjoy working in an internationally distributed environment.
Regardless of the long list of expectations mentioned above you do not need to be an expert in all areas. Equally important as all tech skills are how you fit the group as a personality.
